What are Link Requirements for adding/editing Artist Pages?

Pages on Viberate are equipped with social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and music streaming links (Spotify, Deezer, etc.) that lead to artists' official channels. Links to artist channels are very important. Not only that they provide a content feed that is displayed on Artist Pages, but they also allow us to calculate and monitor artists' performances across various channels. That is why it is very important that you add correct links and that you add as many as you can.

Here you'll find the general rules for adding/editing links, link requirements for each channel specifically as well an example for each channel. You can also observe how links should look on this Page and for more detailed explanations check out our LINK VIDEO TUTORIAL.

GENERAL RULES:

Search for active artists' channels across all possible social media and music streaming services. If you are adding or editing a band, you need to pay attention that you add only links that belong to the band, and not the ones from individual band members.

- All links should be active and display content.
- All channels should belong to the Artist you are adding/editing.
- The last post on social media channels should not be older than 3 years.
- Insert the most basic/shortest URL form possible. See the example below:
          https://www.facebook.com/umek.si (correct)
          https://www.facebook.com/umek.si/about/?ref=page_internal (incorrect)

Don't add:
       - personal Facebook profiles
        - search results
        - individual videos/tracks/songs
        - autogenerated channels (e.g. YouTubic "Topic" channels)
        - fan-made channels
        - playlists
        - podcasts
        - albums
       - record label channels
       - Instagram tag/location pages

MUSIC PLATFORM LINKS

Spotify
Link an Artist profile, not a personal (user) profile/playlist/podcast. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing.

Beatport
Link an Artist profile, not a song/label. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing.

YouTube
Link an official Artist channel and not individual songs/albums, or topic/record label channels. 
Example: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3zRUoRrwCXMpWvBwrJPQ8g 

SoundCloud
Link an official channel. Reposted Artist’s tracks count as content. Do not link auto-generated and/or label profiles or individual tracks. 
Example: https://soundcloud.com/umek

Deezer
Link an Artist profile, not an album/playlist. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing.
Example: https://www.deezer.com/en/artist/134336

Apple Music 
Link an Artist profile, not an album. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing.

Mixcloud
Link an Artist owned profile. 
Example: https://www.mixcloud.com/dj_umek/ 

Tidal
Link an Artist profile, not an album. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing.
Example: https://tidal.com/browse/artist/3550103

Amazon Music
Link an Artist profile, not an album. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing. If the URL has a country abbreviation (example: https://music.amazon.es/artists/B008LEMTQU/umek) change it to .com (https://music.amazon.com/artists/B008LEMTQU/umek).

Shazam
There should be songs uploaded to the profile (only videos are not enough). Do not link individual tracks. If the profile is joined with another Artist, the majority of the published tracks should belong to the Artist you are adding or editing.

SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS

Artist's website/Homepage 
Can be an official domain, Wordpress, Wix or Blogspot page. 
Example: https://www.siddharta.net 

Instagram
Link an Artist owned profile. Last post should be max. 3 years old. If the channel is set to private you can add if there is at least one post.
Example: https://www.instagram.com/umek_1605/ 

Twitter
Link an Artist owned profile. Last post should be max. 3 years old. If the channel is set to private you can add if there is at least one post.
Example: https://twitter.com/umek_1605 

Songkick
The profile should display at least one upcoming or one past event.
Example: https://www.songkick.com/artists/526584-umek 

Facebook
Should be an Artist page, not a personal profile/fan page/auto-generated profile. The last post should be max. 3 years old.
Example: https://www.facebook.com/umek.si 

Bandcamp
 Only link Artist profiles (not albums or record pages).
Example: https://siddharta.bandcamp.com/ 

Bandsintown
Verified profiles can be added even if they do not have any content. If the profile is not verified, it should have at least one upcoming or one past event.
